Daisy Ring Bus CIC is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Director, strengthening its leadership team as the organisation continues to support patients and families across the Isle of Wight.
Island resident Colin Hetherington has joined the board, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of both the local community and the transport sector.
Speaking about his appointment, Colin shared:
“Daisy Ring Bus provides such a vital and reassuring transport link to users already facing a challenging life journey. I’m delighted to join the superb team of volunteers working hard to secure its long-term future.”

Colin runs his own marine travel-related business and brings significant strategic insight from previous leadership roles, including his time as a Director at the Red Funnel Group. He has also served on the boards of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce and Isle of Wight Tourism, contributing to the Island’s economic and tourism development.
Today, Daisy Ring Bus supports around 2,000 passenger journeys every month,
providing a vital link for those travelling to and from essential medical appointments. For many, this service is not just convenient — it is a lifeline during some of the most challenging moments in their lives.
Chair of Daisy Ring Bus CIC, Michèle Le Quesne Newton, said:
“We are very fortunate to have Colin join our close-knit team. His insight into transport systems, gained through his time with the Red Funnel Group, brings real strength to our board as we look to grow and future-proof the Daisy Ring Bus service.”
With Colin joining the board, Daisy Ring Bus CIC is well-positioned to strengthen its impact and continue building a service that the community can rely on when it matters most.
