After facing cancer himself many years ago, Andrew knows just how important support can be during treatment.

Having experienced the challenges of travelling to the mainland for cancer care, Andrew has never forgotten the kindness and support he received during that time. It stayed with him — and inspired him to give something back.

To support other cancer patients and their carers travelling from the Isle of Wight to mainland hospitals, Andrew took on an incredible challenge: abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth to raise money for Daisy Ring Bus.

Daisy Ring Bus provides vital transport for cancer patients and their carers, helping them travel between the Hovercraft, Red Jet and mainland hospitals with care, kindness and reassurance at what can be a very difficult time.

Andrew successfully completed his abseil and, together with his wife Jane, raised an incredible £5,525.

This amazing total will pay for the fuel for both Daisy Ring Buses for six months — helping to keep this much-needed service running for the people who rely on it.

It is a fantastic achievement and one that will make a real difference to cancer patients and their families across the Isle of Wight.

Andrew would like to personally thank everyone who sponsored him, donated, shared his campaign or supported his fundraising abseil. Every contribution helped him reach this wonderful total.

From everyone at Daisy Ring Bus, thank you Andrew and Jane for your kindness, courage and generosity.

Your support will help keep the wheels turning — with love and care.
