35 holes. 8 golf courses. Around 27,000 steps. And an incredible £2,080 raised for Daisy Ring Bus.

We are absolutely delighted to receive £2,080 from Martin Dover following his brilliant Par 3 Challenge.

Martin set himself the ambitious task of playing 35 holes across eight Isle of Wight golf courses in a single day — taking in Freshwater, Ventnor, Shanklin & Sandown, Newport, Cowes, Osborne, Westridge and finally Ryde.
And it certainly wasn’t an easy start!
Sea mist at Freshwater made it almost impossible to see, but Martin and his team carried on regardless. By the time they reached the finish, Martin had completed 139 shots and around 27,000 steps — with, apparently, a very welcome cold beer waiting at the end!
Martin was joined along the way by Steve Linington and Steve Willett, with his wife Jan joining him for the final two holes, and received wonderful support from the golf clubs, friends, family, local businesses and everyone who sponsored the challenge.
The result? An amazing £2,080 for Daisy Ring Bus.

Martin and Steve, thank you. And thank you to every single person and organisation who donated, supported, played a part or welcomed the team along the way. 💚
Money raised like this helps us continue supporting Island cancer patients travelling to and from their treatment at Portsmouth Hospital.
What an achievement — and what a wonderful example of our Island community getting behind Daisy Ring Bus. 🌼
